Article Review - What's New In Flow?

"Thereâs nothing new under the sun."

So begins the most recent article (What's New In Flow, July 2003) by Walt Boyes for the FlowControl Network.  Industry professionals will recognize the truth in this opening statement.  Compared to other industries (telecommunications, electronics, pharmaceuticals, etc...) the water and wastewater arena is relatively conservative and slow to adopt new technologies.  With some notable exceptions (see the article) there have been precious few technological advances in flow monitoring in the last few decades.

Boyes goes on to explain that changes in the way flowmeters are used is a better yardstick for charting progress.  It's an interesting premise and one worth exploring in this short, but insightful, article.
