MusŽe des Egouts de Paris - Paris Sewer Museum
On a recent trip to Paris, my wife Mary and I took the opportunity to visit the MusŽe des Egouts de Paris (the Paris Sewer Museum). Sewers have been an important part of my professional life for over 30 years and I wasn't going to miss a museum dedicated to them. These are the photos we took, along with brief commentary.

Just a stone's throw from the Eiffel Tower you will find the MusŽe des Egouts de Paris (the Paris Sewer Museum). They even have road signs alerting you where to find it!
? This way for the tour. You won't find too many
museum entrances like this!
What, no tripods? Must be a French confined space entry technique.▼
You can't have a sewer museum in Paris without a
nod to Victor Hugo and Les Miserables.
It was Hugo who wrote, "A sewer is a mistake."

A statue of Eugne Belgrande, Director of Sewers in Paris in the mid nineteenth century. I think he might have approved of a Flo-Dar hat.
In case you need to be reminded that the museum is actually part of the sewer system... My wife, Mary strikes a pose common to many of the visitors I saw that day.
