In The Know On Flow
A Note From Kevin Marsh
It's all about wet weather, right? I've spent a career helping my customers monitor wet weather events in their collection systems. Now I have one of my own, but its baseball related. As I write this two events are converging and not in a good way. The first is Game Three of the American League Championship Series between the Kansas City Royals and the Baltimore Orioles. The second is a significant rain system bearing down on Kansas City and likely postponing the game. The stakes are high. You see I grew up in Maryland but have been living in Kansas City (building a life, family, and career) for 20 years. I am a Royals fan now, but admit to being conflicted. So, despite having a very difficult time fitting it into our family schedule I pulled the trigger and paid crazy money for five tickets to tomorrow's game. So why am I worried about rain tonight? Well, if tonight's game is postponed it will be played tomorrow and my tickets will not be good until Wednesday and that's the one day this week that's nearly impossible for us to attend a game. Wet weather. Am I right?
I hope you had a chance to visit us at WEFTEC in New Orleans earlier this month. As you can see from the article below we had a great time promoting the industry's most exciting products and services. I've got 25 years in the industry and never get tired of seeing my friends, old and new, at this annual event. If you missed us at WEFTEC but have sewer flow monitoring challenges just let me know. We'd be happy to come visit you to discuss how Hach Flow can help.
Until next month...

Everyone Won at the Hach Flow 2014 WEFTEC Booth
From Sept 29-Oct 1, the Hach Flow team enjoyed meeting with over 300 fellow wastewater professionals at our booth during WEFTEC 2014 in New Orleans. With over 20,000 registered individuals attending the entire conference, there were few slow moments as we demonstrated the full suite of Hach Flow products.
From a display highlighting the benefits of DDS to a functioning flow loop exhibiting a variety of flow sensing technologies (sub AV, ultrasonic and FLO-DAR), as well as live presentations of our new logger programming software, FSDATA Desktop, there was no shortage of things to discuss.
Ensuring everyone had a great time, this year all of our guests won a take home gift, including 10 lucky winners like Chuck Rogers, WWTP Superintendent for the City of Thousand Oaks, CA, who won the Grand Prize! That's simply how it goes when you're empowered with good flow data - you're bound to win. With good flow data you'll be able to prioritize resources more efficiently, allocate capital investment effectively, and manage O&M intelligently. And as an active DDS customer, Chuck certainly knows the value of good flow data.
